NGA Products and Services

The National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency has a responsibility to provide the products and services that decision makers, military service members, and first responders need, when they need it most. As a member of the Intelligence Community and the Department of Defense, NGA supports a unique mission set. We are committed to acquiring, developing and maintaining the proper technology, people and processes that will enable overall mission success.

Geospatial intelligence, or GEOINT, is the exploitation and analysis of imagery and geospatial information to describe, assess and visually depict physical features and geographically referenced activities on the Earth. GEOINT consists of imagery, imagery intelligence and geospatial information.

NGA does not sell or perform services for the public.

  • Aeronautical Charts and Publications

    The Defense Logistics Agency Aviation Division is responsible for the distribution of NGA aeronautical charts and Flight Information Publications.

  • ArcGIS

    A commercial desktop application that works similarly to Google Earth, for users with complex geospatial data visualization needs

  • CIA Maps and Publications Available to the General Public

    Maps and publications released through the Library of Congress from 1971 and through the National Technical Information Service since 1980 may be purchased from NTIS.

  • Custom Media

    NGA Custom Media fulfills tailored media requests for geospatial intelligence data to disadvantaged users.

  • Declassified Satellite Imagery

    Declassified satellite imagery (e.g., Corona, Argon and Lanyard) used in early mapping programs.

  • FalconView

    FalconView is a Windows mapping system that displays various types of maps and geographically referenced overlay.

  • GEOINT Basic Doctrine Publication 1.0

    Pub 1.0 provides decision makers and intelligence producers a basis for understanding GEOINT to help plan and execute their assigned missions.

  • GEOINT Professional Certification

    Information for GEOINT practitioners interested in the 11 credentials offered by the GPC Program.

  • GPS and Earth Orientation Products

    GPS Division ensures the targeting and navigation grid (WGS84) is constantly realized in GPS for all users and meets National, DoD, and IC requirements.

    Historical maps and charts available to the public may be obtained from the Library of Congress and the National Archives Cartographic and Architectural Branch.

  • Humanitarian Assistance and Disaster Relief

    To help humanitarian missions, the National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency is providing online access to its unclassified geospatial intelligence products to lead federal agencies and their partners.

    Mobile and desktop application enabling users to create, view, and share GeoPackages anywhere

    Map of the World is an environment for GEOINT analysis and exploitation, providing access to foundation data, mission data and visualizations.

    The Maritime Safety Office collects, evaluates and compiles worldwide marine navigation products and databases.

  • Military Ordering of NGA Products & Services

    All orders of NGA products and services from military units must be requested through the Defense Supply Center, Richmond.

  • Nautical Publications

    The U.S. Government Printing Office manages the public sale of NGA navigation publications.

    NGA CORE - Common Operations Release Environment - is a modern software development environment that enables quick, secure delivery of software, independent of the underlying data and infrastructure.

    US Government–sponsored program to assist with unclassified information sharing, information requests, and analysis

  • Print on Demand

    NGA Print on Demand files are high quality, print industry standard PDF files built upon military specifics.

  • Tearline Yearbook

    NGA sponsors Tearline.mil, a congressionally supported publication platform, that features unclassified geospatial intelligence from academic and non-profit contributors using open research and commercial imagery.

    The Globe is NGA’s modern, secure web presence featuring integrated geospatial content, tools and services that provide insight into global events.

  • Topographic Maps, Publications, and Digital Products

    The Department of the Interior, U.S. Geological Survey is the distributor of public sale NGA topographic maps, publications and digital products.

  • U.S. Board on Geographic Names

    The Board on Geographic Names was established in 1890 by President Benjamin Harrison and reestablished in its present form in 1947 by Congress to standardize geographic name spellings throughout the federal government.

  • World Magnetic Model 2020

    The World Magnetic Model is the standard model used by DoD, NATO, and IHO for a wide range of positional and navigation systems.
