Senior Executive Positions

Executive Resources at NGA include members of the Defense Intelligence Senior Executive Service (DISES) and Defense Intelligence Senior Level (DISL) employees.

NGA DISES positions are managerial positions, allocated to NGA by the Department of Defense, which are classified above the Band 5/GS-15 level. DISES positions are characterized by emphasis on organization or program management responsibilities. DISES positions are the DOD Intelligence Community equivalent to SES positions.

NGA DISL positions are technical or scientific positions, allocated to NGA by DOD, which are classified above the Band 5/GS-15 levels. DISL positions are characterized by emphasis on functional expertise and have no more than minimal supervisory responsibilities (less than 25 percent). DISL's are recognized leaders and authorities in a specialized field or functional area. DISL positions are the DOD Intelligence Community equivalent to SL positions.

Senior GEOINT Authority for Aeronautical Navigation - IP7022

Serves as the Division Chief, Mission and International Law (OGCM), Office of the General Counsel (OGC), NGA, and as a senior attorney for NGA regarding intelligence law, international law, homeland security, and issues related to combat support, imagery disclosure and release, imagery sharing relationships, export control, Foreign Military Sales, foreign direct investment (CFIUS), accommodation procurement, safety of navigation (land, sea, air, and space), geospatial intelligence policy matters, and cross-Agency coordination activities.  Serves as legal advisor on all matters concerning creation and execution of policy in support of the National System for Geospatial Intelligence (NSG), Allied System for Geospatial Intelligence (ASG), and the tasking, collection, dissemination, and analysis of information gathered from national technical means.  Serves as legal advisor to NGA on all matters involving domestic and international geospatial regulations concerning NGA, NSG, and ASG authorities and activities. The Assistant Inspector General for Management and Resources (AIGM) is a senior OIG leader and serves under the general direction of the NGA Inspector General (IG). The AIGM is the principal assistant and advisor responsible for a wide range of strategic management and resource functions that support the entire OIG enterprise, to include: internal planning, budgeting, and accounting functions; a wide variety of administrative and data analytical duties related to metrics, budget formulation, justification, presentation and execution; and providing information to assist leadership in carrying out the OIG Mission.

The AIGM provides advice and recommendations directly to the NGA Inspector General (IG) and Deputy IG on issues affecting the office and the Agency. As a key member of the OIG staff, the AIGM is the principal advisor to the IG on administrative, resource management, and business operational matters and possesses the technical capability to ensure realistic and effective execution of resources and administrative activities.
