About NGA

NGA is a unique combination of intelligence agency and combat support agency. It is the world leader in timely, relevant, accurate and actionable geospatial intelligence (GEOINT). NGA enables the U.S. intelligence community and the Department of Defense to fulfill the president’s national security priorities to protect the nation.

The agency is headquarted in Springfield, Virginia with two major locations in St. Louis, Missouri and Arnold, Missouri. Approximately 14,500 civilian, military and contractor employees work across more than 100 locations in the United States and 20 international locations serving on support teams at U.S. military, diplomatic and allied locations around the world. NGA's Tearline

NGA sponsors Tearline.mil, a congressionally supported publication platform that features unclassified geospatial intelligence from academic and non-profit contributors using open research and commercial imagery. The project supplies open-source intelligence to grow authoritative reports for NGA, federal partner agencies, and general public usage to support and assist in the agency's mission.

Water Scarcity in Belgium and the Blue Deal

The Belgian Blue Deal is an ambitious program that aims to tackle water scarcity and drought through a multifaceted approach. The Blue Deal evolved from Belgium experiencing rainfall in more sporadic and often intense bouts that were not properly absorbed into the ground from 2000 onward, leading to water shortages in some areas and intense localized flooding in other parts of the nation. The program focuses on developing solutions by partnering with commercial, civic, and government organizations to conserve water and limit usage. The projects encompassed by the Blue Deal include research and development, educational awareness, regulations, and structural investments.

Moonshot Labs

Moonshot Labs is a cross-agency asset with an initiatives approach to measuring success and accountability. Opened in July 2021, NGA’s Moonshot Labs is an unclassified innovation hub and collider space for NGA, its partners and customers to meet, create, collaborate, and innovate. Moonshot Labs offers a preview of the unprecedented collaborative environment to come at the agency’s St. Louis campus when it opens in 2025. Read more...

NGA at the 2024 DoDIIS Worldwide Conference

The 2024 Defense Intelligence Information System (DoDIIS) Worldwide Conference is in Omaha, Nebraska from October 27th to October 30th. The conference examines the theme Integrated Deterrence through IT Superiority.

The conference features NGA Director Frank Whitworth and Mark Chatelain, Director, Chief Information Officer and Director, Chief Information Office and IT Services Component.
